Advanced Skills Workshop: Family Mediation 2010 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Following on from our close involvement in the development of the framework for mediation in the Family Court, LEADR NZ has built on the experience gained by practitioners who participated in the 2005 Family Court pilot and is delighted to offer specialist training for practitioners who hold LEADR accreditation or equivalent.

A *3 day experiential learning workshop with an overview from Judge Peter Boshier, Principal Family Court Judge.  This workshop is designed for participants who hold LEADR accreditation or equivalent.

Wellington:  20 - 22 September 2010

5-Day Mediation Workshop 2010 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The LEADR five-day Mediation Workshop introduces participants to the theory and practical skills of mediation through lectures, demonstrations and simulated mediations in which the participants practise the skills taught. On the final day, each participant is given individual feedback from a practising mediator.

Advanced Negotiation & Advocacy Skills

Trainers are Tim Clarke, a practising mediator and barrister on the LEADR Advanced Panel; and Christine Grice, a commercial/litigation practice owner and mediator, who holds a number of company directorships and is on the LEADR Advanced Panel. Christine is a past President of the NZ Law Society.

Community Consultation: Practical Consultation and Facilitation Skills PDF  | Print |  E-mail

This workshop provides a framework for practical consultation. The skills covered will help people who manage community or multi-party meetings and disputes, and resource requirements consents. These include: mediators, facilitators, lawyers, planners, environmental managers, community development officers and others whose work requires collaboration with community and diverse groups.

LEADR NZ trained 42 of the staff of the Rodney District Council in Community Consultation in March 2005.

Cross-Cultural Competence in Alternative Dispute Resolution PDF  | Print |  E-mail

There are many different cultural groups in New Zealand today. Cross-cultural competence is an essential skill in dispute resolution and conflict management.

This workshop offers advice, strategies and skills in managing cultural differences when they arise during dispute resolution. The course challenges practitioners to expand the repertoire of strategies they possess regardless of the culture in which they find themselves working.
